Local youth involved in the 4H/FFA Livestock Sale on Saturday, August 8 are donating a portion of their earnings. The funds will be given to help the burn victims injuried when a food trailer exploded at the Lincoln County Fair Grounds last week.

The livestock sale donation amount has now surpassed $34,000. The monies will be presented to the families of Anthyn Titensor and Teylor Dunn to assist with medical expenses. Add-on amounts from the livestock sale are still being tallied by the 4H/FAA programs.

Titensor and Dunn were severely injured when a propane explosion occured on Monday morning, August 3 in the Cowboy Cookin’ Kitchen and Catering food trailer, owned by Linda Hillyard.

Star Valley EMS, Afton Fire, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Afton Police Department responded to the accident scene.

Dunn was flown to Utah and remains there in intensive care. Titensor was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and is now recovering at home.

According to Afton Police Chief Jason Romberg, the initial investigation pointed to a build up of propane inside the trailer. When individuals attempted to light the pilot light the propane build up caused an explosion.

A donation account to help the families of the burn victims has been set up at the Bank of Star Valley. The vendors at the Lincoln County Fair donated their fair week tips to the burn victims. Carnival Midway Attractions also made a donation to the families.

A GoFundMe account has also been set up for the victims and their families. The account has over $35,000 in donations so far.

Wednesday, August 12 the Red Baron Drive-In will donate all of its tips to the families of the burn victims.
