November 16, 2020 – START Bus has announced limited commuter bus service on November 26, 2020 (Thanksgiving) and on Friday, November 27, 2020. Due to ridership data that continues to reflect below average ridership as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, START has decided to make the following schedule adjustments:
Thursday, November 26, 2020 (Thanksgiving)
- START Bus will not operate commuter service
Friday, November 27, 2020
- 30 Teton Valley, Idaho (Wilson, Victor, Driggs) will operate only 1 commuter bus
- 6:25 AM bus from Driggs to Jackson
- 5:05 PM bus from Jackson to Driggs
- 40 Star Valley, Idaho (Hoback, Alpine, Etna) will operate only 1 commuter bus
- 6:25 AM bus from Etna to Jackson
- 5:00 PM bus from Jackson to Etna
“In studying the ridership numbers from previous years on Thanksgiving, START has made the decision to adjust the current schedule and offer reduced runs,” said Darren Brugmann, START Bus Director. “It is our goal to continue to provide a necessary service to the community in a cost effective manner.
Per Teton County Public Health Order #20-6, face coverings are required while riding START Bus. Please DO NOT ride START Bus if you choose not to wear a face covering. START Bus continues to offer face coverings on all START Buses and hand sanitizer for the public to use upon boarding, the duration of the trip and upon disembarking. Please DO NOT ride START Bus if you are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
In an effort to combat COVID-19 START Bus encourages you to stay home this holiday season and consider “gathering” with people you do not live with via virtual meetings!
