◆ Full-depth reclamation part of Etna North project.
Contract crews with Avail Valley Construction are working their way north on the Etna North reconstruction project in Star Valley’s Lower Valley.
The project will bring five lanes to U.S. Highway 89, between Etna and Alpine.
This section of highway is heavily traveled by Jackson commuters living in Star Valley.
Widening of the highway and right-of-way is expected to be complete in August.
Milling operations and paving will continue into the fall months, with most of the work excepted expected to be completed by winter.
Reclamation work along the highway will continue into the spring and early summer of 2022. Formal completion date is June 30, 2022.
Overall, the Wyoming Department of Transportation reports, “the project involves grading, draining, placing crushed base and bituminous pavement surfacing, full-depth reclamation and miscellaneous work on approximately 9.30 miles on U.S. 89 beginning at mile marker 108.13 between Etna and Alpine.”
Limited delays are possible this summer to accommodate the road improvements.
