◆ Fiber and new business part of May council meeting.
The Town of Alpine is coordinating with Silver Star Communications to take high speed fiber through the community in the coming year.
The company and the community are working with attorneys on the final agreement, while Mayor Kennis Lutz has assigned town councilman Jeremy Larsen to work with with Silver Star representative Barbara Sessions.
“We’re excited to be expanding our fiber network in the town of Alpine in 2021 as part of our five-year build plan,” said Sessions, VP and COO of Silver Star. “Residents and business will have access to future-proof broadband services which is a game changer for those who are learning and working from home. We appreciate the town’s support in helping us accomplish the Alpine project this year.”

In other news related to the Alpine Town Council.
• The council received a report on DMOS Pro Shovel Tools, a company transitioning to Alpine.
Company representative Susan Pieper advised they would need a larger facility in Alpine to accommodate company growth. The company is working out of a 2,000 sq. ft. facility, but will soon need 5,000 sq. ft. Plans are being coordinated with the Wyoming Business Council.
The company focuses on a series of shovels designed for attachment to recreational vehicles.
• Alpine’s Planning and Zonning Department has 39 active permits in process right now. Past work has included the final detials on Star Valley Health Medical Clinic and the new Broughlms grocery store, Alpine Market, scheduled for a soft opening May 26 and 27.
Alpine Planning and Zoning meets on a bi-monthly basis.
