Lincoln County School District No. 2 is offering their Summer Food Service program for the summer of 2021. The program is available to all children 18 and younger.
Meals will be available for pick up at Cokeville High School only. Due to staffing shortages, there will not be any pickup locations in Star Valley.
Families in Cokeville and Star Valley that are interested in taking advantage of this service should go to lcsd2.org and sign up using the Google Sign Up Survey that is posted on the website.
“This helps us with ordering and preparing so we know how many meals are needed for each day,” said Sue Helm, Director of Nutrition Services for LCSD No. 2. “We will serve two breakfasts and two lunches twice a week per child on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month of June. In the Google Survey, parents only need to enter how many children they will be picking meals up for and we’ll make sure there are meals for each of those children.”
According to lcsd2.org, “Pick up will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. behind Cokeville High School.
Responses [to the survey] must be submitted by 9:00 a.m. the day of pick-up. You only need to specify how many children you are picking up for, not how many meals you need. BOTH breakfast and lunch are provided at the same time. Each day’s pick-up will include meals for two days.”
“This has been a crazy year for all because of COVID,” said Helm. “Many parents have lost jobs or were unable to work because of COVID restrictions. The summer meal program helps parents that are recovering from these situations by providing meals for their kids.”
