On June 1, a brush fire was started by an abandoned campfire on Indian Creek camping site adjacent to Palisades Reservoir. The fire spread fast in dry sledge grass and willows. Campers in the area were present but not in danger as crews were able to cut off the advancement in the willows.
The Alpine Fire Brush truck was first on scene and established an anchor and suppressed the south flank of the fire. Swan Valley arrived and attacked the north flank. Caribou Targhee Forest units arrived and mop up began with a float a pump operating in the reservoir. Fire was at 14:56 and units cleared at 19:34. Three CT Forest units, Four Swan Valley units and Two Alpine fire units, Two Bonneville Deputies and Swan Valley EMS unit.
