It‘s one of those days when you run out of your favorite cereal or get a flat tire or just wake up on the wrong side of the bed. You know what I mean, don’t you? We’ve all been there. We’ve all had hard days. And sometimes, those hard days stretch into weeks and months and maybe even longer. You may have gotten a taste of that this past year with COVID-19 and all the curveballs that came with it.
Kem Cazier was concerned about these difficult times. So, when SVI News reached out to him to host a radio segment to help uplift our community, he didn’t hesitate to accept. The radio segment is called “The Brighter Side.”
It’s all about how to find the silver lining in difficult times. Cazier says, “When COVID hit, I noticed that a lot of people, including myself, were frustrated. I was wondering how I could be more positive in a negative environment. . . . I thought, ‘Well if I can just help anyone, even one person, feel up, a little happier, or make their day a little brighter, I’d like to do that.’ So that’s how ‘The Brighter Side’ came about.”
You can listen to three-minute segments of “The Brighter Side” on both Swift 98 FM and The Spur 106.7 FM/1210 AM at 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. And if you miss a segment in the evening, you can catch it again the next morning at 8:00 a.m.
Kem Cazier was born and raised in Star Valley and taught in local schools for over 40 years. He may have even taught you or a family member. Cazier has watched Star Valley grow and develop. He’s seen many hard trials and many wonderful blessings over the decades. He knows the people of Star Valley. So, he was the perfect fit to voice “The Brighter Side” and extend hope to our community.
When you listen to “The Brighter Side,” you’ll hear uplifting stories, inspirational quotes, and excerpts from articles. You’ll even learn tools and exercises you can implement to find positivity in your own life. Cazier is constantly researching and keeping his eyes open for messages that would benefit our community. When something difficult or impactful happens in our community, Cazier ponders what he could share to make our day brighter. Cazier says, “If I can help anyone—even one individual—to become stronger and love others more, that’s the goal.”
Cazier sends a message to our community: “I want everyone to know to always believe in yourself, never give up, and always believe there is a brighter side, no matter what.”
If you are going through something difficult in your life or even just one hard day, listening to “The Brighter Side” will help you find positivity. It will help you believe in yourself. It will help you take another step forward. It will make your day a little brighter.
