The KDCA (Kemmerer/Diamondville Community Area) Chamber of Commerce is putting together tourism packets for surrounding areas and looks to include business cards in them.
Director of the organization, Ellen Potter, says this will go to areas like Utah in Park City and Salt Lake and even as far south at visitor centers in Nevada.
“Since Covid, tourism in our area has really picked up,” Potter said. “We thought it might be fun to do some ‘Welcome Backs’ not just for our tourists, but new residents.”
She says the KDCA is looking for about 100 business cards to include in these welcome packages to serve as a marketing technique.
She also says it will be looking to implement these packets starting in November, but it will be an ongoing process.
“I’ve contacted many visitor centers,” Potter said. “And they said they are willing to have those… they’re excited for them.”
She says the reason it will be distributed at visitors centers is so that it will be given to people planning trips.
“So, they can look and see what we have to offer,” Potter said. “Because I think our county has so much to offer in both sides in the north and the south.
“It’s a great place to get away and relax. There’s tons of outdoor activities. There’s tons of festivals. And we do have great shopping. So, you know there’s something for everybody.”
She says that at their office in month over the summer it had over 500 people come through. This was a big uptick from last summer.
She also says this is an opportunity to educate areas on what it would be like to move to Lincoln County or to open a business and invest there.
