Star Valley Arts Council to hold Children Summer Theater Camp; doing a production of Moana Jr.
Star Valley Arts Council director, Tim Hale, says the organization is putting together a Children Summer Theater Camp and will do a production of Moana Jr.
He says this will be for ages six to 16 and he says a group of directors approached him saying it is something they would really like to do. Tina Crowther will direct it and her mother Teresa Bosen will serve as co-director handling different aspects. Combined they have about 25 years of theater experience with K-12.
“To really top this all off, we received a grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation of $5,000,” Hale said. “To really kickstart this program.”
He says auditions will be held June 1 at the Ford Theatre and then practice will be held for the three weeks leading up to the production which will be June 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th at Ford as well.
“It’s really an awesome experience for kids to get involved,” Hale said. “Really learn from professionals how to sing, perform, and wrap it up with an awesome performance of Moana.”
He says in addition to singing there will be work with dancing as well. He also says they are aiming for 30 kids to join the cast.
“Tina (Crowther) told me the numbers and I went ‘Really? 30’,” Hale said. “She says ‘Yeah I want 30.’ So, she is bold, and ambitious, and really gung ho about this.”
