Wyoming residents have a new resource for finding the right health insurance.

Enroll Wyoming is a grant-funded nonprofit with the goal of helping residents understand and enroll in health insurance.

“The mission of Enroll Wyoming is to provide free, accurate, and appropriate assistance to state residents by navigating health coverage, enrollment, and relevant resources. We do this by establishing partnerships and personal connections to educate the public, raise awareness of health care options, and enroll consumers in affordable, quality health plans,” said Angela Thatcher, Southwest Region Health Insurance Marketplace Navigator at Enroll Wyoming.

“My job is to help my clients look for affordable health coverage options through the Marketplace and complete eligibility and enrollment forms. I do not sell anything, get financial incentives, or have sales goals, and my services are free for partners and clients.”

Thatcher said she serves a variety of people in the state. Her office is in Rock Springs, but she travels regularly throughout the region to meet clients and partners where they are. 

“I serve anyone who needs insurance or connected to other services. Sometimes that’s individuals, sometimes families. I also work with small business owners, people who have lost insurance, those with low incomes, and individuals wanting to retire early, just to name a few,” Thatcher said.

Enrollment services are also offered over the phone, via Zoom, and in-person. Thatcher explains how she can help residents when it comes to health insurance.

“One of my primary roles is to help people investigate their health insurance options on the Health Insurance Marketplace. I will run estimates for them, and then, if a client decides to go forward, I help them sign up and complete relevant applications and forms. This is a key role, especially during the Open Enrollment season (November 1-January 15).”

When she’s not in the thick of enrollment season, Thatcher works on educating the public about insurance and building partnerships with other organizations. She also assists people who qualify for special enrollment periods to ensure everyone can get health insurance.

“We want to be here to help people find healthcare solutions that work for their individual situations,” Thatcher said.
