It was a busy weekend for Star Valley First responders as  EMS from Star Valley Health and the Afton Fire Department joined with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol as they responded to a fatality motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon near the base of the Salt River Summit.

A motorcycle went over the guard railing on the west side of the road and driver was thrown to base of the mountain.

Another vehicle accident occurred further south at about the same time. Additional information is expected later today from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Also on Sunday afternoon, the Thayne Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the Lower Valley. Conditions in the area are becoming more dry after many consecutive days of temperatures in the 80s and 90-degree range.  Fire danger in the surrounding areas such as the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Yellowstone National Park are observing a “High” fire danger.
