◆ Cowboy poetry, cowboy comedy and cowboy music make up the Cowboy Christmas show.
Cowboy poet, Paul Bliss, is coming to the Ford Theatre Saturday, December 10 at 7 p.m. to deliver his signature brand of comedy. Bliss will share the stage with The Bitter Creek Band, and together they plan to present a Cowboy Christmas show sure to brighten your season.
Raised in Hinckley, Utah, Bliss now owns and runs a ranch in Salem, Utah with his wife Stacey and their six children.
“Paul Bliss’s boots have trod the boards of stages from Kanab to Chicago and Elko to Texas, and his recordings have graced the airwaves and CD players alike,” assured his Facebook page. “His poems have inspired tears and smiles, laughter and knowing nods, and even a ballet cho- reographed to his composition “Cowboy Poetry in Motion.”
Sporting a bushy white handlebar mustache, a straw cowboy hat and leather suspenders, Bliss has been recognized with honors ranging from the Academy of Western Artists Will Rogers Cowboy Poet of the Year, to The Cowboy Poets of Utah Pioneer Award and to a few National Cowboy Poetry Rodeo Championships.
The Bitter Creek Band, consists of Hyrum and Maren Arbizu. They will be joined on stage by their father, James. Their Facebook page descirbes the band as “a talented group of musicians performing a great mix of Southern and Country Rock; Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Broth- ers, Marshall Tucker, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and many more.”
