Two head coaches from Star Valley High School have been named Fall Coaches of the Year by the Wyoming Coaches Association (WCA).
Football Coach McKay Young and Cross Country Coach Ty Draney were both announced as recipients of the award on Tuesday. The coach of the year awards are selected by fellow WCA coaches.
Coach Young lead Star Valley to a 3A state championship with a 14-7 win over favored Cody. It was Coach Young’s 4th state championship as head coach of the Braves.
Coach Draney earned the honor after the Star Valley Boys Cross Country teamed won the program’s first 4A state championship in impressive fashion with 50 total team points, 29 ahead of 2nd place Cheyenne Central.
Young and Draney will be honored at the WCA Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet in July.
