Winter weather forces cancelation of all evening events in LCSD2 Wednesday

The following is a statement released Wednesday afternoon by Lincoln County School District No. 2.

“Due to the weather conditions and the winter storm advisory that is in effect and in the best interest of traveling of students, parents and stakeholders, we will not have any district sponsored activities (to include concerts, games, practices) after 5:30 p.m. this evening. Practices will be ending 30 minutes early for the buses to get kids home safely. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Some of the school sponsored events that have been canceled included girls basketball and a middle and high school choir concert, along with Christmas plays and productions in various elementary schools around the district. Any questions regarding these cancelations can be directed to LCSD2.

Windy, winter weather has made travel conditions poor across the region. Current road conditions in Wyoming can be found at WyoRoad.info and in Idaho at 511.Idaho.gov. The winter storm is expected to move out of the area over night, leaving behind very cold temperatures and wind chills.
