A 25-year-old man from Wisconsin lost his life Wednesday, February 23 after being caught in an avalanche near Star Valley. Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson said the man was snowmobiling in the Poker Flats area, located on the southern end of Greys River, when the avalanche occurred. Star Valley Search & Rescue responded to the scene and recovered the man’s body. His name is being withheld, pending notification of next-of-kin.
