NWS in Riverton has ongoing Flood Warnings for the Bear River drainage, both north and south of Cokeville, as well as a Flood Advisory for the Salt River drainage. Cokeville did have a canal bank failure that caused some additional Ag land flooding, but it has now been repaired. Waterways outside of these areas are also running high, and are being monitored regularly.

SWE graphs for area basins show significant progress has been made with snowmelt at SNOTEL sites throughout the county, but there is still a significant amount left to go. Comparatively, SWE amounts are generally showing us at about 1-2 weeks ahead of the same time in 2011, and near the same as 2017.

The weather forecast indicates cooler temperatures for a few days, and then a gradual increase in the coming week. This will slow some of the runoff temporarily.

There are currently no confirmed reports of homes or infrastructure damaged, though water is close in some areas. What we do have is widespread impact to agricultural lands.

No road closures currently, although a few roads have had significant encroachment by active runoff or flood waters, and some been down to one lane at times.

We estimate that approximately 5000 of our county-provided sandbags have been filled county-wide so far, and about half of those have been deployed to locations by residents. Some municipalities have also provided additional sandbags. Hundreds of volunteers, including church groups, school sports teams, and others have been filling stockpiles of bags at fill station locations.
