◆ Residents encouraged to report missing items, including ammunition.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking any residents who believe they may have had ammunition or other items recently stolen to report the missing items. Sheriff Shane Johnson said roughly 30,000 rounds of ammo have been recovered over the course of an ongoing investigation.
“We know some of the ammunition is stolen, or never been delivered, or stolen off a porch,” stated Sheriff Johnson. “We’re looking for people who ordered ammo but didn’t get it. In all calibers.”
Johnson said that in addition to the ammo, other items related to the case have been reported stolen such as generators, air conditioning, food storage and even $15,000 worth of silver coins. All of these items have since been recovered by police.
“We’re trying to tie (these items) back to the victims so we can continue working the case,” Johnson explained. “If you do have something that you’ve ordered and you believe that it wasn’t delivered because of theft, then get a hold of us and we’ll see if we can tie that back to this case that we’re working.”
Some of the items that were recovered were found in pawn shops in Idaho Falls, others were found after executing a search war- rant. Anyone who believes some of these recovered items may belong to them, or if they have other ordered items they believe to have been stolen, can contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (307) 885-5231.
