The Vocalist, the largest singing competition in the Rocky Mountains, returns to the Lincoln County Fair in Afton, Wyoming on it’s opening day Saturday, August 3. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with the show starting at 7:00.
The show will include eight contestants who will sing on stage, hoping to earn the audience vote and the $10,000 grand prize. Meet the contestants by visiting TheVocalistUSA.com.
The event will also include a special mini concert by this year’s celebrity judge Chris Petersen from Cedar City, Utah. Petersen was featured on Season 15 of America’s Got Talent, where his performance was hailed as “brilliant” by Simon Cowell. In 2019 Petersen won the Western Legends Country Battle USA held in Kanab, Utah. His latest single title “Horse People” has had a huge impact. After posting a clip of the song to social media it amassed over 2 million views in under a week.
Petersen joined Duke Dance for an interview on SVI Radio (Swift 98 and The Spur) on Wednesday, July 26 to discuss his musical influences like Chris Ledoux, his style of country music as well as judging and performing during The Vocalist. The full interview can be heard below.
His music can be found on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify and YouTube. He has also amassed a large social media following with the handle @diehardcowboy_ on Facebook and Instagram.
