2023 Lincoln County Fair Schedule

After kicking things off on Saturday with the parade, the car show and The Vocalist, the Lincoln County Fair continues all this week with some amazing acts and features. Here’s a look at the schedules so you don’t miss anything!

Robert Henry

Robert Henry Band: Bringing back good, old fashioned country music.

By Aubrey Taylor SVI Media

The Lincoln County Fair has had some amazing musical talents in the past, and this year is following suite. Coming from a musical family, Robert Henry was able to make the decision to pursue music as a career. His bio says, “Florida-born and Oregon-raised, Robert’s northwest upbringing simultaneously juxtaposed and complimented his southern roots.”

After listening to Robert Henry Band, it’s obvious that country runs deep. Henry has a low twang and growl in his voice, paired with smooth music and guitar strokes that complement each other.

Ryan Lyman, Event Coordinator explains, “They are a five piece country band that covers a wide variety of songs, as well as some great original work.”

Henry was in his first band at age 14 and continues to share his love of country music to all who will listen. As a whole, country music has changed shape in many ways, but Henry is determined to “revive the “roots that run so deep” of country music’s past, yet is eager to storm the gate with a sound of his own.”

The band has been traveling throughout Oregon this past month and dipped down into Jackson July 3-5. After that, they are headed to Star Valley for the Lincoln County Fair.

They will be playing August 7 and 8 from 2-4 p.m. under the Tiny Top, following Jessie Leigh-Country Music.

Filled with storytelling, Robert Henry Band’s music is sure to have the audience swaying and tapping feet during their Lincoln County Fair performances, so get your beat-tappin’ boots ready!

Max Power & Nitro

Max Power & Nitro!

By Dahl Erickson, SVI Media

Combining the curiosity and nostalgia of both young and old alike, Max Power is an interactive robot who talks and starts parties along with the help of his mini monster truck, Nitro.

Max Power is nine feet tall and five feet wide and decorated with extensive LED lighting as he towers over crowds and creates visuals from across the fair grounds.

“Max loves to meet fair people and guests and tell silly jokes,” said creator Kyle Palmer in a conversation with SVI. “He creates spontaneous dance parties and he comes with a mini monster truck called Nitro who is a 1969 Ford Bronco. Sometimes you’ll see Max Power on the back of Nitro to move him around because when he gets available he gets mobbed so Nitro helps get him from place to place.”

As part of his programming, Max’s detailed facial features make him photogenic and life-like. He walks, talks, dances and is equipped with a built in sound system for playing music and interacting with fair guests.

Palmer created Max Power in 2017 and he’s been traveling around the United States for fairs and festivals ever since. His trip to Afton will be a new experience.

“This is Max’s first time out west,” Palmer added. “He’s never been further west than the Dakotas so he’s excited about making that trip. Max is super friendly and loves people and interacting with them and taking photos and creating awesome selfies. He also makes very good Christmas cards!”

Make sure both kids young and old get a photo and create some memories with Max Power and Nitro as part of the 2023 Lincoln County Fair.
