A Cokeville High School student was transported for local medical attention after falling out of a moving vehicle and suffering injuries on Wednesday October 18.
According to Cokeville Police Chief, Eric Whitehead, students were heading back in the direction of the school from lunch at approximately 11:45 a.m., when one individual fell out of a vehicle that was moving and may have been struck by a following vehicle.
“We are not sure,” said Chief Whitehead. “Nobody for sure saw that take place. The initial report was that he was hit by a trailing vehicle but that is still being determined.”
As the vehicles stopped the individual was “off to the side” and in-between the tires. All of those involved are minors and students.
The accident took place at the intersection of Main Street and Sage Ave.
The student was transported to the Star Valley Health clinic in Cokeville after suffering multiple abrasions and a potential back injury.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Cokeville Police Department.
