Robert “Whompa” Roberts, Safety Manager at Simplot Smoky Canyon Mine, stepped into the SVI Radio studio to discuss two recent awards for both him and the mine. Smoky Canyon was awarded the Sentinel’s of Safety Award from the National Mining Association. Roberts was also individually given the Distinguished Safety Professional of the Year from the Western MSHA district.
