• Mrs. Wyoming, Becca Shanks, and Miss Wyoming, Adelaide Roberts, serve as MCs for the evening.
The Star Valley Arts Council’s traditional Stars in the Valley Christmas concert is taking place Saturday, December 9 at 7 p.m. in the Star Valley High School Auditorium. Local performing and visual artists have prepared a variety of acts to brighten the holiday season.
According to starvalleyarts.org, this performance is “A Christmas variety show featuring a wide range of artistic selections, from operatic duets and string quartets to lively dances and holiday harmonies. Don’t miss this fun evening of Christmas cheer!”
For nearly five years, the Council has worked to organize a show annually that features exclusively local talent. Typically, the show has been presented as a Christmas celebration, though one year, it was presented in the spring. Each year, the show offers acts that are new to Stars in the Valley. This year is no different, offering dancers, vocalists, and instrumentalists, as well as a visual artist.
“It’s just a fun way to support our local people,” said Lxi Weber, Executive Director of the Arts Council in an interview on SVI Radio. “Sometimes it’s just a surprise. We don’t realize that these friends and neighbors of ours have these talents. It’s just so fun to come and see them.”
Becca Shanks, current Mrs. Wyoming, and Adelaide Roberts, the current Miss Wyoming, who are both from Star Valley, will host the evening as Masters of Ceremonies. They are both thrilled to spend some time with the community in this capacity.
Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the door or in advance at starvalleyarts.org.
