Jim Altman
James F Altman was born September 23, 1939, in Huntington Park California, to Clifford Eugene (Kit) Altman and Ocie Berry Altman
He left this earth peacefully at his home in Thayne, Wyoming on December 10, 2023 surrounded by his family.
He married Janice Marilyn Kirkeby on January 11, 1971 in Las Vegas.
Jim was raised in El Monte, California, graduated from El Monte high school and attended some college. After that he worked at Bank of America where he delivered bags of checks to different banks. In 1973 he moved his family to Wyoming where he spent about 30 years in the mining industry, Washington Construction, in Soda Springs, Idaho, from there Conda mining took over, then went to work at Simplot before he retired.
Some of his favorite things to do growing up; him and his buddies would take his boat down to the Colorado River and water ski, (he was a pretty good water-skier) or they would go to the beach and surf.
Jim loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing. He would often take his family down to the southern part of Wyoming and go camping and chicken hunting. He also loved going and watching the cutter races in the winter months.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob Altman and sister Donna Crane, grandparents Jacob and Hattie (Combs) Altman, Arthur and Anna (Taylor) Berry.
He is survived by his wife Janice Altman, daughters Jennifer VanHuysen (Duane), Ocie Hoopes (Willy), nine grandkids, Matthew VanHuysen (Valerie), Shay Long (Del), Jacob VanHuysen (Brittney), Kendra Jorgensen, Garrett, Taylor (Josey), Jace, Madison and Payton Hoopes, seven great grandchildren Kyler and Maeson Beard, Willy Long, Adrianne and Aidden VanHuysen, Briley Jorgensen and Alexander Raudman.
Steve Ashment
Steven Earl Ashment, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023.
Steve was born on April 26, 1943 to Earl and Arline Joyce Ashment in Afton, Wyoming. After the passing of his mother at the age of two, he was raised by his dad and his stepmother, Verla Ashment. He grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming and eventually moved to Cache Valley, Utah, where he married his beloved wife, Mada Heninger Ashment in the Logan, Utah Temple. They raised their family of seven children in North Logan.
Steve and Mada shared 59 years of marriage together, walking side-by-side in love. They supported each other through a life filled with great joy, intermixed with trials and sadness. These experiences forged their faith in Jesus Christ and love for their family and each other. They endured together always as sweethearts and eternal companions.
Steve was a contractor and developer, known for painstaking attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. He had a great sense of humor and was friendly to everyone he associated with. He faithfully served in many callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He endured many difficult challenges well, but his firm testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ was unwavering.
Steve was a patient and kind caretaker, a mentor, a tremendous example, a loving father, a caring grandfather, a hard worker, and a wonderful person who embodied the best that humanity has to offer. He was funny and used humor as a way to bond with those around him. He is fondly remembered for catch phrases unique to him, that he spoke to those he cared about.
The world has lost a light that warmed so many. While we mourn his passing, we celebrate his return to a loving Heavenly Father and think fondly of the sweet reunions with his birth mother, as well as the other family members who passed before him.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Mada, and his children Kerry (Terri) Ashment, Shannon (Stephen Raymond) Ashment, Shaun Ashment, Tresa (Joel) Burton, Daniel (Kelsey) Ashment, Scott Ashment and Nicole (John) Zilles. He is also survived by five siblings, nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, stepmother, and sisters: Deanna Theurer and Aloyce Robertson.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 21 from 6-8 pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary, located at 34 East Center Street in Logan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22nd at the North Logan 2nd Ward Chapel, located at 1105 East 2100 North in North Logan at 12 pm. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:30-11:30am at the church. Allen-Hall Mortuary will have a live Zoom broadcast of the funeral available at www.allenmortuaries.com.

Roy Siebeck
Roy Anthony Siebeck was born on May 28, 1956, in Tucson Arizona to Richard and Joyce Siebeck. He unexpectedly passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 67 in Alpine Wyoming.
Roy attended high school in Tucson Arizona. He later became a General Contractor in California and Master Electrician in Wyoming, Arizona, California and Texas. He worked very hard in his life and was always driven to succeed. He proudly owned RAD Electric.
Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with family and most of all horses.
Roy was the loving husband to Freya Trevino Lara, whom he cherished very much. He is the proud father to Arliss and Dillon. He also loved all six of his grandchildren.
Roy is proceeded in death by father Richard “Dick” Siebeck, Mother Joyce (Gill) Siebeck and brother Richard “Richie” Siebeck.
Roy is survived by his sisters Barbara Hughes and Adrienne Magee, wife Freya Trevino Lara, sons Arliss (Kelli) Siebeck and Dillon Siebeck. Grandchildren Mickel, Hart, Cienna, Xymenna, Brekkyn and Richie.
Roy will missed by many that loved him.
Memorial Services will be held at later date and time.
M. Naomi Wilkes
Mildred Naomi Wilkes, 79, of Smithfield, Utah, formerly of Afton, Wyoming, passed away on December 12, 2023, at Logan Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 20, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral home (162 E. 400 N) Logan Utah.
The viewing is 4 pm – 5:30 pm, and the funeral begins at 6 pm.
On Thursday December 21, 2023 there will be a graveside gathering at the Afton, Wyoming cemetery at noon, for all friends and family in Star Valley that couldn’t make it to the funeral in Utah.
