Dennis Haderlie

Dennis K Haderlie

On January 6, 2024, our beloved Dennis K. Haderlie, of Freedom Wyoming, passed away at the age of 75 with his loving family at his side.

Dennis was a cherished son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife Pamala, daughter Heidi, sons Zane and Seth, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three brothers, and one sister.

All who knew him loved him. He was a pillar of his community,  a trusted friend, mentor, and helped anyone in need.

He loved spending time with family and friends, winning a hand of pinochle, telling stories, and sneaking up on unsuspecting ducks, grouse, and elk.

He will be greatly missed by many.

 

Please come join us in celebrating and honoring his life on Saturday January 13, at 12:00 p.m. at Schwab’s Mortuary in Thayne.

Kathi Jorgensen

Kathi Marie Jorgensen, 71, of Irwin, passed away January 3, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Kathi was born March 8, 1952, in Eugene, Oregon, to Allen Charles Caulkins and Lois Northey Caulkins.

On December 13, 1974, she married the love of her life, Dale Jorgensen in Green River, Wyoming. Together they were blessed with four children, Suni, Jeannie, Ken and Nicholas. Kathi and Dale created a beautiful life together in Star Valley, Wyoming, for many years, having raised their children there as well as welcomed their grandchildren. In 2002, Kathi, Dale, their son and his family moved to Irwin Idaho.

Kathi was of Christian faith, she enjoyed learning about all faiths, her one special favorite was her regular meetings with Jehovah’s Witnesses while they lived in Wyoming. She loved and enjoyed all things outdoors; fishing, camping, visiting the Oregon coast with her sister. Her horses were her passion and enjoyed them daily, her puppies (Foxy and Lucy), and hummingbirds were all favorites. She loved all animals, including the pesky raccoons that stopped by, she thought they were too cute to be considered pests. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Kathi is survived by her sons, Nicholas (Audrey) Jorgensen, and Ken (Terra) Jorgensen; daughter, Jeannie Jorgensen; sister, Teri (Phil) Bronkhurst; brother, Phil (Sandy) Caulkins; grandchildren, Jayda (Jordan) Green, Tayann (Jared Vowles) Jorgensen, Dominic Jorgensen, Sam Nebeker, Lisa Nebeker, Kendra Jorgensen, Demri Nebeker, Preston Jorgensen, Kaydence Jorgensen, Charlie Jorgensen, Misty McMurdo, Heidi McMurdo, Jessica McAbee, JoDale McAbee, Dustin Jorgensen, Shawn Summers and Stormi Summers; great grandchildren, Avery Jorgensen, Paityn Jorgensen, Brynn Jorgensen, Tristin Warren, and Briley Miller; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Jorgensen; daughter, Suni Summers; granddaughter, Alissa McMurdo; beloved nephew, Jeremy Bronkhurst; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will follow directly in the Swan Valley Cemetery.

DeLand Lainhart

DeLand Lainhart

Allen DeLand Lainhart was born 20 May 1941 in Afton, Wyoming the fourth child and oldest son of Audry Hunsaker Lainhart and Boyd Lainhart.  His siblings were Vada, Vola, Vatia, Boyd R, Mary Ann, Genevieve, Sherman, Dorthy, Larry, Laura, and Amanda.  Vada, Vola, Boyd R, and Sherman preceded him in death.  DeLand passed from this life at his home in Thayne on January 7, 2024 after contracting cancer.

DeLand was educated in the Star Valley school system, attending Osmond Elementary, first through eighth grades, and Star Valley High School, graduating in 1958.  He joined the US Navy in 1959 and served there until May of 1962.  During this time he served a seven month deployment to Sasebo, Japan.

After his discharge from the Navy, DeLand obtained employment with IBM and remained with them until his retirement in 1995.  After his retirement he worked 5 years for New York Life, fully retiring in January 2000.

He married Juanita Condry Slater in the Idaho Falls Temple in August, 1962.  To this union were born seven sons: Jerry, Allen, Eric, Kurt, Elisha, Kyle, and Isaac.  Isaac died in childbirth along with his mother in November 1978.  A year later in November 1979 he married Olivia Ann Dodson in the Salt Lake Temple.  To this union were born three more sons: Jared, Daniel, and David.  After a struggle with breast cancer, Olivia died on February 11, 2019.  DeLand married Deanna Oxborrow on April 25, 2020.  They were later sealed in the Payson Temple on April 1, 2022.  This marriage added four more children from Deanna’s family that DeLand loved as his own.  DeLand’s greatest joy came from his many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

DeLand was very civic minded serving four terms as a Thayne City Councilman, three years as a chairman of the Thayne Planning and Zoning Committee when the zoning ordinances were being written and codified, four years as a member of the North Lincoln County Hospital District Governing Board, four years as the Mayor of Thayne, and 20 years as the Thayne Municipal Judge.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully and in many different callings.  He and Olivia served an 18 month mission to the Texas McAllen mission of that church.  He served as a temple officiator in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temples for 14 years, and as an assistant recorder in the Star Valley Temple from the time that it opened in 2016 until March 2022.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Thayne Stake Center. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Schwab Mortuary and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to service at the church.
