Water damage to a telecommunications infrastructure building in Teton County has caused outages to landline telephone service in some areas of Star Valley, Jackson and Bondurant. The outage has forced 911 emergency services to route all 911 calls for Teton County and Star Valley to the dispatch office in Kemmerer.
According to Teton County Emergency Management, the outage means that some landline phone calls may not be able to be completed and data systems that depend on that telephone infrastructure may go down.
It remains unclear how long the outage will last, only that is expected to last at least through Wednesday night and into Thursday, January 18. Additional details will be posted as they become available.
