On January 19, just after 2 p.m., Lincoln County first responders and law enforcement responded to an accident at the intersection of U.S. 89 and 236 near the Kodiak Lodge south of Afton.

According to information from the Afton Police Department (APD), a collision took place between a Chevy Suburban and a Toyota passenger car. Upon investigation it was determined that the driver of the suburban failed to yield the right of way and hit the driver’s side of the Toyota. The driver of the suburban was cited for failure to yield the right of way. The driver of the Toyota was transported for medical attention and later released. The extent of the injuries are unknown.
