Lincoln County School District No. 2 has issued the following statement in regards to a social media post made by one of it’s student athletes over the weekend.
“Lincoln County School District #2 and Star Valley High School administration was made aware of a social media post that was posted by a student athlete. The video contained a hateful, racial statement. Lincoln County School District #2 will not tolerate any such statements. Students involved with the social media posting were immediately determined to be ineligible to compete pending the investigation.
The impacts of such behavior affects not only students, but also the community. After the conclusion of the investigation, appropriate actions will be taken by the District. The District is committed to the privacy rights of its students and staff, however, recognizes the concern and the need for accountability and importance of addressing such issues transparently.
