According to multiple reports a woman was hospitalized with severe injuries after being struck by a truck while riding her bike on the evening of February 9. This is according to Unified Police Sgt, Aymee Race, The woman is a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints according to representatives of the church.
Sister Hillary Lamphere from Ronan, Montana was struck by a pickup in Magna, Utah according to the Unified police officials.
LDS Church spokesman, Sam Penrod, stated on Monday February 12, that she suffered “serious” injuries.
“Sister Lamphere’s parents are grateful for the prayers being offered for their daughter and the comfort and support they are receiving from family and friends,” the statement said.
Officials say the incident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed. The driver is cooperating with officials according to the Unified police.
According to the most recent census, Magna has just under 30,000 residents.
