• “You have no idea where your snowmobiles can take you.”
After renting a home in Jacknife in Freedom, Patricia Veronda-Naumoff saw a group of women driving by with their trucks and snowmobile trailers. This stopped Naumoff in her tracks and rushed to the end of the road to meet them, instantly knowing she wanted to be a part of it.
Snowmobiling isn’t just a recreational activity. It can also be a way to help keep the backcountry open. This has now been a 15-year passion for Naumoff, who was recently awarded the Wyoming State Snowmobile Association (WSSA) Female Snowmobiler of the Year after being nominated by Star Valley Sno-Skippers.
The WSSA has a goal of protecting, improving and enjoying snowmobiling in Wyoming.
“We are constantly fighting to keep the backcountry open,” says Patricia. “The more volunteering I do, the more goes toward that cause…I look at Star Valley as an area where I can make a difference.”
The Satin and Sage Events owner is a part of several clubs that donate portions of their raised funds to WSSA and local community needs. She is president of Rev It Up Girls and also a member of Star Valley Sno-Skippers.
