An Alpine family was displaced Friday afternoon, April 12, when fire destroyed a bedroom in their home. No one was injured but a family dog died in the fire.
Lincoln County Communications dispatched the Alpine Fire Department at 2:15 p.m. and the team arrived within four-minutes with two engines. When they arrived a rear bedroom was fully engulfed in flames.
Two people were out of the home.
A plan was established to put the fire out, while Lower Valley Energy was contacted to shut the power off.
A third engine arrived and two water lines were pulled through the front of the residence. Firefighters extinguished the blaze before it spread to the remainder of the home.
Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Seven volunteer firefighters, and three trucks responded, along with Star Valley EMS.
The EMS team checked on the home’s occupants and arranged for temporary housing for them and a remaining pet.
“We appreciate Star Valley EMS for their assistance,” Alpine Volunteer Firefighter Dave Walters said. “It’s very nice to have them partner with us.”
He noted the assistance of The Flying Saddle Resort and Haystack Pet Resort for temporary accomodations.
