The University of Wyoming football team will open their season on the road against new Big-12 member Arizona State on August 31 in Tempe but the Cowboys will be hosting the University of Idaho Vandals on September 7 to open their home slate. It will be on that date that fans and ticket holders will have the chance to experience some of the new additions to War Memorial Stadium.

In an interview with SVI Media last week Chad Baldwin, Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications for UW, spoke about the work being done on “The War” in these final weeks leading up to the 2024 season.

“The west side stands have been the focus,” he said. “They will be ready for that first game. There are seatback seats on that lower level [and] there’s a whole second phase that will happen next summer called loge seating between the upper and lower area as well as a new press box.”

Loge seating are areas of private seating that typically have an open space for mobile seating such as folding chairs but are bordered by railing. It is one of the enhancements of the gameday experience the university is adding.

“That new loge seating and premium club area will also have an enclosed space,” Baldwin added. “It will have updated lighting, a public concourse and improved amenities. It’s all part of improving our game to be competitive with every other program in the Mountain West. We’ve gotten great support from donors and the state of Wyoming.”
