At just after 4 p.m. on Monday, August 5, Officials with Lincoln County Emergency Management reported that a fire had started to burn due to a lightning strike north of Kemmerer. Emergency vehicles from the Kemmerer Fire Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene with additional resources from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) joining them.
The fire itself is on BLM land in the area of Gomer Rd.
Named the Lupin Fire, the blaze was contained at 47 acres according to officials on Monday evening.
