The filing deadline is this Monday, August 26 at 5:00 p.m. for those hoping to run for a position on the Lincoln County School District No. 2 Board of Trustees. Applications can be picked up from the District Office in Afton or through the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office. Applications must be turned in to the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office before the filing deadline.
During an interview in July on SVI Radio, Superintendent Matt Erickson outlined the four seats that are up for election this November. “We have Area #1 which is currently held by Lenn Johnson. Area #3 currently filled by Jed Johnson. Area #4 which is held by Dr. Simpson, who is our chair. And then one of the at-large seats that is currently held by Homer Bennett.”
“Anybody that has interest is certainly open to file and we’d love to work with whoever the great citizens of this school district feel should represent them,” concluded Superintendent Erickson.
A complete list of candidates who have filed for school board will be published in the Aug. 28 edition of the Star Valley Independent, following the filing deadline. Residents will have the opportunity to vote for school board positions during the General Election on November 5. A map outlining each trustee area can be found at LCSD2.org.
