• Local dentist brings experience and family-friendly focus to Dr. Norman’s former practice
In a heartwarming turn of events, Afton is excited to welcome Dr. Owens, who has recently purchased Dr. Norman’s dental practice. Dr. Owens, originally from Auburn, and his wife, a Grover native, are thrilled to return to the area with their six children. Dr. Owens and his wife Megan graduated from SVHS together.
Dr. Owens graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH in 2015 and quickly moved to Evanston, WY where he honed his skills at Bear River Dental for nine years. This new chapter is especially significant for him, as Dr. Norman was his dentist during his teenage years. “It feels like a full circle moment,” Dr. Owens remarked.
The practice offers a comprehensive range of dental services, including crowns, fillings, sealants, implants, extractions, root canals, dentures and partial dentures, cosmetic treatments including, teeth whitening, clear aligners, and veneers. Dr. Owens is particularly passionate about preventative treatment and helping people feel confident in their smiles.
He loves working with and educating children, and he has made changes to the office to ensure a welcoming environment for young patients. “We want to get them started on good oral care early,” he stated.
Committed to modern technology, the practice now features an intraoral scanner that can create 3D models and a CBCT machine for 3D imaging capabilities of the teeth and jaws. “I’m excited to bring the advancements in dentistry to our patients,” he shared.
Dr. Owens emphasized his appreciation for the staff, stating, “I have the best staff; they are very efficient and caring at what they do and are very connected to our patients on a personal level. They have helped make the transition from Dr. Norman to myself much easier for our patients.” He is now accepting new patients and is available from Monday to Thursday, with one Friday a month.
Reflecting on the community, he added, “Of course, the Valley is a beautiful place to live, but it’s the people that make it special. You can’t beat the people in Star Valley. I’m excited to be back here for that.”
