Area gas prices tick down but still well above the national average

While the price of gasoline has dropped somewhat, area residents will continue to pay more than the national average and more than the state average at the pump. According to GasBuddy.com‘s survey of 494 stations in Wyoming, the average price of a gallon is at $3.06 this week. However, the average price in Lincoln County is at $3.35 per gallon. For those commuters to Jackson, the average price in Teton County is at $3.39 per gallon.

The survey listed the highest price in the Cowboy State was $4.19 with the lowest at $2.75.

The national average price of gasoline has fallen 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.03 on Monday. The national average is down 16.7 cents per gallon from a month ago, and stands 32.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
