Lincoln County gained 303 jobs in the second quarter of 2024, according to a report released this week by the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. This marks an increase of 4.2 percent in the overall county workforce.
At the same time the total payroll in Lincoln County rose by $8.4 million, or about 8 percent for the same time period.
Total second quarter wages were reported at $113,787,615 in 2024 compared to $105,366,014 for the same quarter in 2023.
Workforce Services attributes the Lincoln County job growth to increases in local government employment, construction, accommodations, food services, retail trade, and professional or technical services.
Neighboring Teton County employment rose by 317 jobs in the second quarter, while that county’s payroll increased by $52.7 million.
Teton County’s growth was linked to construction that included 221 jobs. Additional Teton County jobs were connected to local government, administration and waste services.
Regionally, Sweetwater County lost 135 jobs, but at the same time the payroll for that county grew by $8.8 million or 2.5 percent.
Workforce Service reports construction was down by about 300 jobs in Sweetwater County but the job loss was partially offset by job gains in local government, and wholesale trade, in addition to health care and social assistance.
Overall, total employment in Wyoming for the second quarter grew by 2,288 jobs, a 0.8 percent growth rate and total Wyoming payroll was up by $210 million, a 5.3 percent increase.
Workforce services concluded that employment was up in 12 counties, while payroll figures increased in 20 of the 23 counties.
Third Quarter data is expected to be published Feb. 7, 2025.
