• Proceeds benefit Kenzie Nield
A local fundraiser has been established for Afton resident Kenzie Nield, the wife of Weston Nield and mother of three, to help the family following medical challenges. A goal of $10,000 was set, with $1,850 raised as of Tuesday morning.
According to the GoFundMe page, Kenzie and her family “have faced immense challenges over the past two weeks. After numerous trips to the ER and various hospitals, they have been searching for answers to her symptoms. Kenzie experienced episodes where her arms and legs would go numb. She was unable to speak, see, or hear. They seemed similar to stroke symptoms. These episodes varied in duration and frequency, making it incredibly difficult for her to manage her daily life as a photographer, mother of three and wife.
“After extensive evaluations, Kenzie has been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder. This diagnosis marks the beginning of a long journey toward recovery, which will involve various types of therapy. Her way of life has been impacted immensely. One of the significant triggers for her episodes is stress, and alleviating their financial burden could greatly help reduce that stress.”
