The Star Valley Arts Council’s fifth annual Stars in the Valley Christmas Concert is scheduled for Friday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Star Valley High School auditorium.  The Stars in the Valley Concert features local performers and artists ringing in the Christmas season with music, dance, and visual art.

“Our Stars in the Valley Concert is such a fun way to bring the community together to support each other and celebrate one another’s’ talents,” said Lxi Weber, Executive Director of the Arts Council in a text with SVI Media last week. With a focus on inviting local artists to take the stage and share their gifts and love of the Christmas season, the Arts Council has been offering the Stars in the Valley Concert since Christmas of 2018.

This year’s Masters of Ceremonies are Brant and Tina Crowther. The Crowthers bring a warm and strong presence to the stage. Brant teaches 6th grade at Etna Elementary School and Tina is a life-long musical and theater performer and director. Tina currently directs the Star Valley Arts Council’s Children’s Summer Theater Camp, which offered “Seussical, Jr.” in June.  Tina is also an adjunct professor with BYU Idaho in the Marriage and Family Department.  Brant and Tina have eight children and are skilled in making “good things happen in front of a crowd,” said Janet Erickson, Star Valley Arts Council Chair, and director of the Stars in the Valley Concert. “We are thrilled to have Brant and Tina lead a great line-up for the concert.”

This year’s program features dance performances from Dezi’s Dance Studio, Stars Cheer, and ballerina Amanda Culpepper.  Fans can look forward to instrumental numbers from Alan Goodman, Charity Williams, Elizabeth, Mary and Naomi Erickson, Jessica Rasmussen and a string quartet consisting of Thomas Randall, Hunter Randall, Brigham Hahn and Charlotte Crook from the SVHS Orchestra program. Vocal artists will bring a range of styles from classical to soft rock with performances by the Angel Choir, Oakley Dunlap, Brynlee Hahn, Halie Vickery, Jeff Andrus, Kayleen Anderson and Sadie Durrant,

“Stars in the Valley brings an uplifting spirit,” said Erickson. “There is such joy in celebrating the birth of Christ and the amazing talents of our local artists. It’s a cherished experience for families from throughout the Valley as they launch their Christmas season, so please come and see friends and neighbors as they offer their gifts of music and dance to our community.”
