GoFundMe established for Auburn family following Leukemia diagnosis

A GoFundMe page has been created for a local Star Valley family after their three-year-old was diagnosed with Leukemia.

Lane Skinner, the son of Ben and Amy Skinner from Auburn, has been undergoing chemo and other treatments at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City since early December. The Skinner’s say that through the help of friends, family and nonprofit groups such as the Jason’s Friends Foundation, their immediate day-to-day needs are being met.

In a written statement Ben & Amy said “As a family we have already been so well blessed and supported through our current trial. Even and especially through this hard time we have seen so much good in the world, so much generosity that we do not want to discount or diminish all that has and is being done for us. For this reason we have up till this point resisted efforts to do a fundraiser for us, but we feel that we cannot continue to hold back the flood of support that still wants to come our way. With this in mind we want to make clear that we feel optimistic about our financial situation and we are motivated to pay back and pay forward from the lessons we have already learned through this experience. If this all turns out as well as we hope in 2 and a half years we intend to turn extra money over to Jason’s Friends Foundation www.jasonsfriends.org. Thank you, and know that we can feel your Love, Prayers, and support.”

Donations can be made at the GoFundMe page by searching for Lane Skinner Medical Fund or clicking here.
