Monday morning I made a quick trip to Rock Springs as the Governor’s Task Force on the Rock Springs Resource Management
Plan is starting the process of putting a detailed response together on a proposal that has drawn a lot of attention, most of it negative.
This book-length document, if approved, changes the way we use the land for mineral production, ag, and recreation. I serve in an advisory position on the task force.
I appreciate the Lincoln County commissioners joining a regional group, along with others in the push back for this proposal. Even the state snowmobile association is involved.
However, because it involves a federal agency, our response has to be well prepared and it will be as we complete a series of meetings in the coming weeks.
It’s simply not acceptable to have this federal agency shut down mineral uses, ag and recreation.
