Mountain Maiden Tattoo Co., owned by tattoo artist Jade Goodrich, has recently made its mark in Alpine following Goodrich’s return home after completing an advanced tattooing program in December 2023.

Goodrich shared that her interest in tattooing began when her mom would receive tattoos and would take Goodrich along with her to appointments. The love of tattooing continued into high school as she would job shadow tattoo artists in Jackson.

Upon reaching 18, Goodrich seized the opportunity to apply for an exclusive advanced tattoo program in Oregon. With only eight slots available, Goodrich eagerly anticipated her acceptance and successfully completed the program in December 2023.

After working in tattoo shops out of town, Goodrich realized the need for more local artists.

“There’s a lot of people here who don’t want to travel to Jackson or Idaho Falls.” Goodrich said. “So, I decided to open my own shop.”

Mountain Maiden Tattoo Co. is located in the Alpine Mercantile and Goodrich is taking appointments.

Goodrich enjoys tattooing botanical and nature-inspired tattoos, but has done some other styles, including fine line.

“Part of the reason I do this job is because I love to meet people and the tattoo community is a great community.”

She concludes by saying, “I look forward to connecting to people in Star Valley and getting more people involved in the tattoo community.”
