Multiple crashes occur during Thursday night snowstorm

A few different vehicle accidents occurred in Star Valley Thursday evening as wind and snow impacted the valley, with the biggest travel impacts occurring the lower valley.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reports that one of the accidents occurred just before 5:00 p.m. on County Rd. 115 near the Wolf Den south of Etna. The crash involved three different vehicles. Two people were transported to Star Valley Health for minor injuries. Winter weather and road conditions were a contributing factor in the accident.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol also responded to a separate single vehicle accident on Highway 89 when a car slid off the road and into a fence next to a power pole. No injuries were reported in the incident. Road conditions were again reported as the cause of the accident.

Snow and wind caused low visibility in Star Valley and throughout much of western Wyoming and eastern Idaho. The forecast for Friday and Saturday is partly sunny, with snow returning to the area Sunday and Monday.
