• District Ranger working through public response
Kemmerer District Ranger Adam Calkins is pleased with the response to a call for assistance with the renovation of 180 miles of backcountry trails, all part of the Commissary Ridge Trail System.
The system includes 17 trailheads and 34 different trails in the southern Bridger-Teton National Forest.
As part of public involvement, the district ranger hosted a public open house at Kemmerer’s Fossil Fuel Coffee, in addition to posting notices about the project.
After sorting through some 70 responses received late in 2024, Calkins said “the next step is go through the survey and see what trail heads and trails have the most responses.”
From there the District Ranger will put together a draft trail management plan “that will guide our efforts over the next five years.”
