SV Chamber gearing up for shop at home holiday campaign 2019

Area shoppers are asked to start keeping and turning in their receipts starting on November 30.

The Star Valley Chamber of Commerce will kick off the 2019 Shop at Home Holiday Campaign on Small Business Saturday, November 30.

The shop at home has campaign has three primary goals.

• First, to encourage area families to spend their dollars locally.
Receipts from any purchases made at local businesses from November 30 to December 31 can be turned in for a chance to win prizes and Chamber Bucks.

Bins to collect receipts will be placed at each Bank of Star Valley Location. Shoppers can also take a photo of their receipt and email the image to info@starvalleychamber.com.
Be sure to include a contact name and phone number.
Drawings for prizes and chamber bucks will take place each Friday in December during the Weekday Wake-Up Radio Show.

• Second, to encourage area businesses to go out of their way to attract customers.
Area businesses are invited to let the Star Valley Chamber of Commerce know about any special sales, products or events that will be taking place in their business for Small Business Saturday and/or the holiday season.

The Star Valley Chamber is also looking for gift baskets, gift certificates and prizes featuring local businesses that will be given away.
Each month the Star Valley Chamber of Commerce sends out information in the form of relocation packets and travel/tourism packets. On average, 13 packets are sent out each month.
If your business has fliers, brochures or product information to include in those packets, please contact the Star Valley Chamber of Commerce at (307) 885-2759.

• Third, to educate the community on the far reaching impact of dollars spent locally.
National economic studies indicate that for every $100 spent locally, $68 of those dollars continue to circulate within the community.

Local businesses are also better at creating higher-paying jobs than their retail giant counterparts.
Studies also show that local businesses donate to community causes at more than twice the rate of national chains.
