
• Bramwell, Moffat win All-Around Titles
Eight local boys from Star Valley competed at the State Gymnastics competition in Laramie on Saturday, March 8. As a team, the boys finished in second place with multiple individual top honors.
In Level 4, Ben Bramwell won the Wyoming State All-Around. Cooper Sessions finished second on vault and floor. Declan Tipton took first on pommel horse and rings while Malachi Byrd took first on high bar and parallel bars.
In Level 3, Jaxon Moffat swept his division earning six gold medals and earned the Wyoming State All-Around Title. Timmy Petersen vaulted a clean 9.5 and took home third in a very tough division as well as earning one of his highest scores in pommel horse. Ben Tyler took first on vault while Graham Byrd took first on floor and second on vault.
The teams are coached by Mikaela Byrd and Sara Tipton.
“We are so proud of them for their increase in physical strength and skills this year,” said Coach Byrd. “And even more proud of their growth as individuals, in their emotional resilience, determination to overcome struggles, and their focus on improvement through consistent hard work.”
The girls team from Star Gymnastics is competing at their state event this weekend, which will be held in Gillette.
