Star Valley High School Senior, Dallas Tolman, who is the son of Dallin and Natalie Tolman, has accepted an invitation to attend The Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts in late June 2025. High school students invited to attend the Congress must first be nominated by someone in their community, but Dallas has no idea who nominated him. He and his family are working to raise funds for travel and tuition expenses for him to attend the event.

“The opportunity to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders is incredibly important to me, it will allow me to explore my passion for medicine, gain invaluable insights from professionals in the field, and build a network of peers who share my aspirations. However, the costs associated with registration, travel, and accommodations are beyond my current financial means.”

Dallas is a diligent student who currently holds a 3.8 GPA at SVHS. He is actively involved in the school and community as a member of the SVHS yearbook staff, a Varsity soccer team member, a volunteer with his church congregation, and as an intern at Star Valley Health in the Radiology Department.

Though he is unsure when or where his interest in medicine was born, Dallas is certain that he wants to learn as much as possible about the science and career opportunities offered through the study of medicine.

His fascination with medicine has taken him places that most seniors in high school only go when they are unwell. “I like to go over and see what’s going on at the hospital,” he shared. He has been invited to “stand behind the doctors and watch everything they do and interact with the patients.”

Though he was “nervous at first,” Dallas has become comfortable circulating in the hospital, absorbing all he can from his experiences there. He has observed work in the Emergency Room and in the Operating Room for minor surgeries at Star Valley Health where Radiology services were needed. “Everyone I know at the hospital says it’s a super great career choice,” Dallas said. “It looks fun and it’s always interesting.”

Initially, Dallas believed the offer to attend the Congress was a hoax, but he did some research and was delighted to find that it’s a valid offering, and he’s thrilled to be able to attend the week-long camp where students learn from professionals in the medical field, watch live procedures and surgeries, and have opportunities to ask questions.

After returning from the camp, Dallas is planning to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which he expects to begin in the early Fall of 2025. After returning from his mission, he hopes to attend BYU Idaho for pre-med studies and then continue his medical track at Weber State in Utah.

Dallas and his parents, who have seven children, are seeking sponsorships so that he can attend this camp. Dallin works for Silverstar, and Natalie serves her family as a stay-at-home mom, who offers some childcare services as well.  To ask questions, sponsor or donate, please contact Dallas directly at 307-880-9602 or email dcameront@icloud.com, or send a Venmo payment to @Natalie-Tolman-1.

“I am kindly asking for your donation to help cover these expenses,” Dallas humbly said. “Any contribution you can make, no matter the size, will have a significant impact on my ability to participate in this event and further my education and career goals in the medical field. I want to offer a big thank you to everyone that has contributed and will contribute to my fund and my goals. A BIG thank you.”
