In partnership with the Star Valley Conservation District and Farm Bureau Federation,  the Lincoln County Weed and Pest is offering their 14th annual Growers Meeting on Thursday, April 10 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Afton Civic Center. Landowners from throughout Lincoln County are invited to attend free of charge to learn and discuss content and issues relevant to agricultural production.

“Everyone is invited that wants to come and learn,” said LC Weed and Pest Supervisor, Travis Osmond, in an interview with SVI Media last week.  “The Star Valley FFA will be there serving light refreshments.” Landowners and growers from LaBarge to Alpine are welcome to come and learn from presenters who will cover specific issues that currently create challenges in the agriculture community.

Guests will enjoy presentations by specialists from Utah State University and the University of Wyoming discussing pasture management and cattle herd management, with specific tips on increasing yield and income, as well as a specialist from Utah who shares a “great presentation” about Chronic Wasting Disease.

“We have a lot of people who look forward to this every year, so come and enjoy,” said Osmond. “Everyone is welcome. Bring your spouse and just come for a good night of learning and hopefully you can take something away that will help you be a better grower on your land. This is our way of giving back to the public and we enjoy doing this.”
