The Afton Fire Department was dispatched to Allred Rd. on Tuesday, April 15 shortly after 3:00 p.m. for pump house that had caught fire. When firefighters arrived the building, located roughly 100 yards to the west of Allred Road, was mostly engulfed in flames.
“It was a controlled burn, burning grass, that got out of control and burned an old pump house up,” stated Assistant Fire Chief Logan Wilkes. “The building was a complete loss.”
