• Auditions are this Saturday for hometown comedy “A Feud For Thought”
The Star Valley Historical Society proudly announces auditions for the 32nd season of Rock Church Summer Theater, a cherished local tradition celebrating community and storytelling.
Auditions for this summer’s production, A Feud For Thought, will take place Saturday, April 19, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Historic Rock Church in Auburn.
Written by Ruth Wood and Allene Robinson, A Feud For Thought is set in 1915 and captures the comedic chaos that ensues when the first automobile rolls into Star Valley. As tensions rise between the cattlemen and sheepmen, audiences will enjoy a delightful mix of small-town drama, a Romeo-and-Juliet-style love story (without the tragedy), a city writer from St. Louis exploring rural life, and even a sheepdog who’s ironically afraid of sheep.
Rehearsals begin April 30 and will be held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Performances run Fridays and Saturdays from June 20 to July 19, with the exception of July 4. Each role is double-cast, allowing every actor to perform in five shows.
Charity emphasizes that this is the perfect opportunity for first-time actors and families. “One of the easiest ways to make friends is to join some type of group. Many children who started with Rock Church play have gone on to be leads in the high school musical as teenagers. With us having a small stage the cast is also small, providing an opportunity to get to know each other.”
