• Thayne North multi-lane delayed until 2030 or later
Strawberry Road, County Road 126 in Star Valley, is slated for construction work starting in mid-May.
“We’re doing a realignment of the road, shifting it to the rest area and getting it away from the corner where we have had accidents,” explained Wyoming Department of Transportation Resident Engineer Darrin Robinson. “We’ll straighten that road out.”
He said the sub-grade work was completed in the fall and it is ready for base and asphalt work, in addition to fencing.
“If the contractor stays on schedule, it should be done by mid-summer,” Robinson noted.
Robinson has three bridges in Star Valley scheduled for rehabilitation. They include Alpine, Star Valley Narrows and the north base of the Salt River Summit.
Future projects include a change in the Grover US 89 intersection to accommodate intersection traffic. The intersection accommodates traffic into Grover and Grover Park, Auburn and the north Grover dry farm area. The corner project is set for 2027.
A delayed five-lane expansion of U.S. 89 north of Thayne is planned for 2030.
